First Communions in 1920s

Here are a couple of First Communion pictures taken in the 1920s.

  • The first is of Marcelina and Victor Sanchez, the eldest children of Victoriano Sanchez, who belonged to San Felipe de Neri parish in Old Town Albuquerque. Victor died before adulthood. Marcie married James Chiado and lived in Albuquerque.

  • The second photo is of Anastacio Torres, the youngest child of Ignacio Torres. Anastacio grew up in Socorro and probably made his First Communion at San Miguel parish. During his lifetime, he lived in Socorro, the San Francisco area in California and in Albuquerque. He married Piedad Baca.

Anastacio was a first cousin of the dad of these Sanchez children.
